Shoff G. Coffey, Fuquay-Varina

Shoff Gamblin Coffey, 87, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel, 401 N. Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., one hour before the service. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Adelle Marie Coffey; and parents, Burl and Camble Coffey.
Mr. Coffey retired from Purdue University where he worked in the Engineering Department. He was an active attendee at Emmanuel Holiness Church. 

He is survived by his sons, Ronald D. and Gary S. Coffey; daughter, Martha Jane Davis; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Shoff Gamblin Coffey and Eva Mae Rainwater were married on 7 January 1942 in Indiana.⁴¹³⁵² Eva Mae Rainwater, daughter of Louis Francis Rainwater and Grace Wilson, was born on 12 February 1923 in Liberty, Casey Co., KY. Eva died in Indiana in 1999 and was buried at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute, Vigo Co., IN in 1999 .⁴¹³⁵³

Shoff Gamblin Coffey and Adela Marie Laster were married. Adela Marie Laster, daughter of Charles D. Laster and Dorthy M. , was born on 18 February 1940 in Guilford Co., NC.⁴¹³⁵⁴ She lived with her parents in Greensboro, Morehead Twp., Guilford Co., NC on 10 April 1940. Adela died in Fuquay-Varina, Wake Co., NC on 16 November 1999 and was buried at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina, Wake Co., NC in November 1999 .^41355,41356

Surviving: Husband, Shoff G. Coffey; daughters, Sandra Betts of Asheboro and Sharon Inman of Archdale; son, Karl Haper of Fuguay-Varina; grandaughter, Amber Haper who resided in the home and 5 other grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers, Haywood Laster of Chesapeake, Virginia, Donald Laster and David Laster, both of Portsmouth, Virginia, Robert Adams of Sophia.

The family will receive friends at Trinity Baptist church, Angier from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Thursday November 18.
