6. Annister Coffey was born circa 1708 in Essex Co., VA.

Referred to as Ann in her father's will.

Annister (Ann) Coffey was indicted by a Grand Jury in Essex Co., Virginia on November 17, 1736 for "having a base born child." She named the child James Coffey.

Annister Coffey and James Samuel had a liaison which produced .

Resulted in birth of James Coffey.

Dr. Laurence H. Coffey in his work entitled Thomas Coffey and his Descendants (Chattanooga: Newell Sanders, 1931), listed the spouse of Anister (his spelling) as a Shenalt, but when he listed the children of Edward and Ann Coffey he failed to mention the son Austin (Austes in Edward's will). Since Dr. Coffey's work, other researchers have listed Austin as marrying a Miss Shenalt and assuming that Annister was not married.

When Ann Powell Coffey Dooling died, she mentioned Annister and her son James in her will, but no husband is known for her.

James Samuel was born in 1690. James died in 1759.
