Arnold Coffey

Arnold B. Coffey, 75, of 2103 Kersey St. died Tuesday at Wesley Long Community Hospital.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Street Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Goode officiating. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.

Coffey was owner and operator of Coffey Saw & Repair and a retired engineering employee of Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Florida Street Baptist Church.

Surviving are wife, Mrs. Mildred Tew Coffey; daughters, Mrs. Billie Hooks and Mrs. Margaret Johnson of Greensboro; sister, Miss Winnie Coffey of Greensboro; brother, Thomas Coffey, Jr of Memphis, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Arnold Boone Coffey and Mildred K. Tew were married circa 1929 in North Carolina. They lived with his parents at 812 Glenwood Ave. in Greensboro, Morehead Twp., Guilford Co., NC on 2 April 1930. They appeared in the census on 25 April 1940 in Greensboro, Morehead Twp., Guilford Co., NC.32239 Mildred K. Tew, daughter of Fleet Martin Tew and Emma Margaret Shephard, was born on 14 April 1913 in North Carolina. Mildred died at Beverly Health Care Center in Greensboro, Guilford Co., NC on 27 July 2000 and was buried at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensboro, Guilford Co., NC on 30 July 2000 .32240,32241

MILDRED TEW COFFEY

Mrs. Mildred Tew Coffey, 87, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at Beverly Health Care Center. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2000, in Guilford Memorial Park.

Mrs. Coffey was a member of Florida Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold B. Coffey.

She is survived by her daughters, Billie Hooks and Margaret Johnson, both of Greensboro; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2000, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Glenwood United Methodist Church, 1417 Glenwood Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27403.
