1977. Jessie Patterson "Pat" Coffey was born on 6 November 1845 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC. He lived with his parents in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC on 30 July 1850. He lived with his parents in Johns River Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 20 July 1860. Pat served in the CSA when he enlisted in Co. F, 26th NC Infantry on 15 July 1861 in North Carolina.
He was recorded in the muster rolls as Deserted on Jul, 15, 1863 at Winchester, VA; Returned in March 1864; Deserted on Jun 11, 1864; Confined in June 1864 at Point Lookout, MD; Released on Jun. 27, 1864; Enlisted in Company D, 1st Infantry Regiment VO on 27 June 1864.

Point Lookout was a Union POW camp. He was likely in prison at the time the CSA muster rolls lists him as a deserter. He lived with his son-in-law J. Lee Hayes in Watauga Co., NC on 13 January 1920. Jessie died of mitral regurgitation on 2 May 1924 at the age of 78 in Blowing Rock, Watauga Co., NC and was buried at Mount Bethel United Church of Christ Cemetery in Blowing Rock, Watauga Co., NC.^7519,7520

Jessie Patterson "Pat" Coffey and Phoebe Matilda "Tilda" Curtis were married circa 1866 in North Carolina. They appeared in the census on 17 June 1880 in Watauga Twp., Watauga Co., NC.⁷⁵²¹ They⁷⁵²¹ appeared in the census on 5 June 1900 in Blowing Rock, Watauga Co., NC.⁷⁵²² Pat and Tilda⁷⁵²² appeared in the census on 19 April 1910 in Blowing Rock, Watauga Co., NC.⁷⁵²³ Phoebe Matilda "Tilda" Curtis, daughter of Joshua Curtis and Margaret Edmisten, was born on 25 February 1845 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC. Tilda died of acute heart dialation on 26 October 1915 at the age of 70 in Blowing Rock, Watauga Co., NC and was buried at Mount Bethel United Church of Christ Cemetery in Blowing Rock, Watauga Co., NC on 28 October 1915.^7524,7525
