Sandidge, Leana Coffey, 101, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, September 28, 2002 at her residence. She was born August 18, 1901 in Coffeytown, daughter of the late Nathan and Louella Davis Coffey. She was a member of the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron Blair Sandidge; daughter Lorene Fifer; stepdaughter, Alpha Coleman; stepsons, Herman Sandidge and Walter Sandidge.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Withers and husband, Bob, of Buena Vista. Marolyn Cash and husband, Donnie of Buena Vista, Dorothy Floyd, of Buena Vista, and Essie Coleman and husband, Bill, of Lynchburg; stepdaughter, Virginia Camden, of Buena Vista; son-in-law, Roland Fifer, of Lexington; 9 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2002 at the Buena Vista Presbyterian church with Rev. Robert McMullen officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lomax Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 406, Buena Vista, Va. 24416. Arrangements are being handled by the Lomax Funeral Home.
