Nan Coffey McElroy, 82, of Oneida, passed away suddenly Friday evening, May 6, 1983, at her home. She was the daughter of the late William Coffey and the late Etta Litton Coffey and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ransome (Mack) McElroy; one sister, Deana Smith; and three brothers: Mitchell, Jodie, and Willie Coffey. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mrs. McElroy is survived by one brother, Dudley Coffey of Stearns, Ky.; two nieces: Jewelene Dobbs of Muncie, Ind., and Phyllis Charlot of Hawaii; five nephews: Hoyt Coffey of Muncie, Ind., Kenneth Coffey of Bristol, William Coffey and Larry Coffey, both of Stearns, Ky., Claude Edward Smith of Boston, Mass.; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, May 9, at the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Roy Blevins officiating. The Bethlehem Baptist Church Choir sang. Burial followed in the Litton Cemetery. Pallbearers were: James B. Cecil, Larry Coffey, Jim Coffey, William Coffey, Odie Crabtree, and Howard K. Mays.

West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Nancy Coffey and William Walter Ranson "Mack" McElroy were married. William Walter Ranson "Mack" McElroy was born on 31 October 1892 in Mississippi. Mack died on 10 May 1956 at the age of 63 in Tennessee and was buried at Litton Cemetery in Oneida, Scott Co., TN.26827
