FAIRBURY - William G. Coffey, 89, of Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury, formerly of Forrest, died at 1:10 p.m. Friday (Feb. 15, 2002) at Fairview Haven.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Ministers of the Apostolic Christian Church of Forrest will officiate. Burial will be in Forrest Township Cemetery, Forrest. Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at the memorial home.

Memorials may be made to Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.

Mr. Coffey was born Nov. 27, 1912, in Russell Springs, Ky., a son of Samuel G. and Sarah Conover Coffey. He married Thelma Burton on Jan. 14, 1935, in Columbia, Ky. She died June 19, 2000.

Three brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.

Mr. Coffey formerly lived in Forrest for more than 45 years. He worked for Sam and Frank Honegger at Honegger Hatchery, Forrest, until his retirement.

He was a former member of the Baptist Church in Russell Springs, Ky.

William loved to refinish furniture. He also loved gardening and flowers.

William Goshen Coffey and Thelma Burton were married on 14 January 1935 in Columbia, Adair Co., KY. Thelma Burton was born on 24 July 1916 in Russell Springs, Russell Co., KY. Thelma died at Fairview Haven Nursing Home in Fairbury, Livingston Co., IL on 19 June 2000 and was buried at Forrest Township Cemetery in Forrest, Livingston Co., IL on 22 June 2000 .25298

FAIRBURY - Thelma Coffey, 83, of Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury, formerly of Forrest, died at 7:30 p.m. Monday (June 19, 2000) at her residence.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Ministers of the Apostolic Christian Church of Forrest will officiate. Burial will be in Forrest Township Cemetery, Forrest. Visitation will be one hour before the service Thursday at the memorial home.

Memorials may be made to Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.

Mrs. Coffey was born July 24, 1916, in Russell Springs, Ky., the daughter of George and Rissie Ellen Burton. She married William G. Coffey Jan. 14, 1935, in Columbia, Ky. He survives.

Six sisters preceded her in death.

She was employed at Honegger Hatchery in Forrest and later was employed by Motorola in Pontiac until her retirement. She was a resident of Forrest for 45 years until moving to Fairview Haven in 1994.

Thelma loved to work on quilts and had received numerous awards for her quilting. She also enjoyed gardening.
