Marcelllus Coffey

Waynesboro, Va., Sept. 30 - Marcellus Coffey, 78, died at his home at Stuart's Draft Saturday night following a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Monday from Pines Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Guy Stump, assisted by the Rev. T. H. Campbell. Mr. Stump [sic] [Coffey] is survived by his wife and six children - Jessie, Ella, Margaret, Lee, Hal and Charles, and by three children by a former marriage. They are John Coffey, Mrs. Jack Phillips of Waynesboro and Mrs. Thomas Sweet of Roanoke.

This child's name is spelled Martellus in the 1860 census. In other census records his middle initial is S. In the 1930 census he was enumerated as Martin S.
