Jeweline Dobbs, 77, of Muncie, IN, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Muncie. 

She was born on December 24, 1934, the daughter of Dudley and Gertie (Taylor) Coffey. On December 12, 1953 she married Ellard Dobbs. 

She loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morningside. She was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved being with her pet dog, Gypsie. 

Surviving relatives include three sons and one daughter, Michael L. Dobbs (Tammy) of Gaston, IN, Teddy D. Dobbs (Anna) of Gaston, IN, Terry W. Dobbs of Muncie, IN, and Debra Kay Evans (Rick) of New Castle, IN; four brothers and one sister, Hoyt Coffet (Betty) of Muncie, IN, Kenneth Coffey (Bernice) of Kansas, William Coffey of Kentucky, Larry Coffey of Stearns, KY, and Phyllis Ferrara (Peter) of Stearns, KY; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Brenda Gail; and one brother, Bennie Coffey.

The family would like to give a special thank your to all the staff at the Golden Living Center for all the loving care they have given to them. 

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, IN. Rev. Bob Byers and Rev. Elwood Evans will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.

MUNCIE--Ellard V. Dobbs, 81, of Muncie, IN, passed from this earthly life into the arms of God on Wednesday, May 9, 2012.

He was born May 18, 1930 in Stearns, KY, the son of the late J.H. and Martha (Cooper) Dobbs.

Ellard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Jeweline (Coffey) on May 4, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter, Brenda Gail Dobbs; sisters, Edith Anderson, Evelene Wright, Belvia Winchester; brothers, Elzie, Estelle and Elbert Dobbs.

He was a Korean War veteran having served in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. Ellard was retired from Indiana Steel and Wire after working as a machine repairman for 33 years and was a member of the Steelworkers Union Local 1314. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Morningside, where he enjoyed playing the guitar and the autoharp.

He also enjoyed being with his pet dog, Gypsie.

He is survived by his three sons and one daughter, Michael L. (Tammy) Dobbs of Gaston, IN, Teddy D. (Anna) Dobbs of Gaston, IN, Terry W. Dobbs of Muncie, IN, Debra Kay (Rick) Evans of New Castle, IN; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Jo (Henry) Stephens, Jeweline Calhoun and step-brother, J.B. (Joyce) Watson, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at Southern Care Hospice and also Dr. Charles Dinwiddie for all the loving care they have given to them.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, IN. Officiating will be Rev. Bob Byers and Rev. Elwood Evans. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
