108. Jesse Coffey was born circa 1775. He appeared in the census in 1810 in Burke Co., NC.396 He purchased in Burke Co., NC on 1 November 1838.

He purchased land from his father's estate. Jesse died circa 1840.

Jesse and Margaret were pioneer settlers in the Boone Fork area. In their day it was in Ashe Co. and it extended to Coffey's Gap, Boone Fork and Shulls Mills.

Jesse Coffey and Margaret "Peggy" Edmisten397 were married.

Children listed on indenture on Nov. 23, 1844: Jesse T. of Hawkins Co., TN; Cleveland of Grainger Co., Wm; Reuben; Sally; Margaret;, b c1817; Nancy; Austin, b1818; Caleb, b c1814. Reuben was b c1805 m Rachel Hayes c1807. In 1850 listed in Cocke Co., TN census; during CW in Watauga Co. Margaret "Peggy" Edmisten appeared in the census in 1840 in Burke Co., NC.398
