Joe L. Coffey

Joe Linn Coffey, 80, of 472 Holiday Road, died at 2:20 p.m. yesterday at the Good Samaritan Hospital.

A native of Danville, he was a son of the late Joe and Margaret Ballard Coffey. He was educated in Stanford and was a member of the Central Christian Church, the Masonic Order and the Shrine. He retired in 1950 as an associate of the Eagle-Picher Co., Cincinnati, Ohio.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle O'Bannon Coffey, Lexington; a son, Shelby Coffey, Somerset; a brother, Robert H. Coffey, Youngstown, Ohio, and two grandchildren, Army Lt. Thomas Coffey, stationed in Vietnam, and Miss Jolin Coffey, Mannheim, Germany.

Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Leslie R. Smith and the Rev. John H. Bennett. Burial will be in the Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford.

Friends may call at the mortuary from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Joe Linn Ballard Coffey and Myrtle O'Bannon were married on 12 December 1907 in Danville, Boyle Co., KY. They lived with his parents in Stanford, Lincoln Co., KY on 19 April 1910. They appeared in the census on 9 April 1930 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY.12522 Joe and Myrtle12522 appeared in the census on 30 April 1940 in Jefferson Co., KS.12523 Myrtle O'Bannon, daughter of William B. O'Bannon and Cordelia Ellen Frith, was born on 24 February 1887 in Kentucky. Myrtle died in Pulaski Co., KY on 18 June 1982 and was buried at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, Lincoln Co., KY in June 1982 .12524
