Floyd Monroe Coffey, 75, of 81 Copperhead Lane #195 passed away Friday, September 28, 2013. He was a native of Madison County and son of the late Posey Jerome and Elizabeth Griffin Coffey. He is also preceded in death by his brothers; Frank, James, Carroll and Anderson Coffey. Floyd was a member of Paint Fork Baptist Church and a retired self-employed carpenter. 

He is survived by his wife Mamie Eldridge Coffey; sons, Eddie Coffey of Mars Hill, David Coffey of Woodfin and Gerel Coffey of Greer; grandchildren, Daniel, Mariah, and Joseph Coffey; sisters, Esther Bailey and Meredith Wilburn, several nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Paint Fork Baptist Church. Rev. Ronnie Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery on Walker Branch Rd.

Visitation will be held 6:00 -8:00 Monday, September 30, at Blue Ridge Funeral Service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Funeral Service, PO Box 27, Mars Hill, NC 28754 to assist the family with funeral expenses

A living couple was married in 1962 in Haywood Co., NC.39373 Living, daughter of Fuller Elders and Nancy Cagle, was born in 1944 in Jackson Co., NC.
