WAYNESBORO-Wayne Massie Coffey Sr., 47, of 141 Elizabeth ave., died Monday (Aug. 7, 2000) at his residence.

He was born June 16, 1953, at Waynesboro, a son of Helen Esther Shirley Coffey and Earl Massie Coffey Sr.

He was a member of Mountain Top Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Massie Coffey Jr. and his fiancee, Tarah Ferguson of Crimora, Bruce Dwayne Coffey and his fiancee, Kelly Hartman of Lyndhurst; three brothers, Garland Daniel and Earl David, both of Lyndhurst, and Earl Massie Coffey Jr. of Waynesboro; two sisters, Sissy Brown of Waynesboro and Tina McLaughlin of Lyndhurst; three grandchildren, Kassandra Brooke Coffey and Calib Scott Coffey; nieces and nephews; and three special friends, Clayton Coffey and family, Betty Coffey and Lauro Prieto.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service by the Rev. Jim Simmons, with burial at Riverview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Sonny Buchanan, Marvin Phillips, Mark Bowles, Sonny Claytor, William Coffey and Paco Prieto.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the home of Betty Coffey in Lyndhurst.

A living couple was married in 1972 at Lyndhurst United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA.47997 Living, daughter of Edna Gertrude Cash, was born in 1955 in Virginia.
