GREENSBURG -- Vaughn Coffey, 89, of 2959 Clover Lick Road, a retired well driller, father of Thomas H. Coffey, died Tuesday at T.S. Samson Community Hospital, Glasgow. Services 10 a.m. Friday at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home. Visitation after 4 p.m. today.

Vaughn Coffey and Ann Irene Hopkins (Hawkins?) were married. Ann Irene Hopkins (Hawkins?) was born on 7 October 1895 in Kentucky. Ann died in Kentucky on 18 September 1964 and was buried at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Greensburg, Green Co., KY in September 1964 .39845

Mr. Thomas Holland -Tom- Coffey of Greensburg, son of the late Vaughn Coffey and Irene Hawkins Coffey, was born on Saturday, June 25, 1932 in Green County and departed this life on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He was 74 years, 6 months and 1 day of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a Member and Deacon of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a retired employee for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. having worked for 41 years.
He united in marriage to Shirley Benningfield on April 11, 1958 who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Dr. John Demaio of Lexington; a son and daughter-in-law: Bill and Susan Coffey of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren: Christina Demaio of Louisville, Allison Demaio and Grace Demaio both of Lexington, Elijah Coffey, Layden Coffey, Cody Hunt and Kaleigh Hunt all of Campbellsville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Coffey was also preceded in death by a brother: William Lewis Coffey.

The funeral services for Mr. Thomas Holland -Tom- Coffey will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Dr. Gary Ervin will be officiating.

The family has requested that expression of sympathy take the form of donations to the Bethlehem Baptist Church Building Fund or the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
