Two Hickory Area Men Die in Action; Another Missing

Hickory, July 23.--Two young men of the Hickory area have been reported today as killed in action and another is missing.

Pvt. Earl Clay Coffey, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burton Coffey, of Brookford, was killed in Italy on July 1. He had been overseas only since the first of June. His wife is the former Miss Leona Mitchell, of Brookford. A brother, Pfc. Edd F. Coffey, is serving in the South Pacific.
