Hartley

James Caleb Hartley, 72, of Fredericks Hall, died Sunday, March 25, 1979 in a Charlottesville hospital. He was survived by his wife, Mrs. Kate Kuper Hartley; two daughters, Mrs. Marry C. Wynn, Jr. of Peachtree City, Ga., Mrs. F. Preston Tilley, Charleston, S.C.; one son, Carson Lewis Hartley of Erwin, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. C. M. Richardson and Mrs. J. Otis Loving of Louisa Co., Mrs. Randolph Carter of Lenoir, N. C.; one brother, Richard Cowles Hartley of Louisa; three grandchildren, Laura Jo and Jason Christopher Hartley of Tennessee; and Forrest Tilley of South Carolina. Mr. Hartley was a well-known and highly respected dealer in livestock; horses in particular. Funeral services, Tuesday, March 27, 2 p.m. Woodward Funeral Home, Chapel, Louisa. Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa.

James Caleb Hartley and Lillie Kate Kuper were married on 25 October 1938 in Louisa Co., VA.33176 Lillie Kate Kuper, daughter of Manson Lewis Kuper and Kate Maude Adams, was born on 16 May 1909 in Louisa Co., VA. Lillie died in Louisa Co., VA on 8 December 1991 and was buried at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa, Louisa Co., VA in December 1991 .33177
