He was a pastor and helped organize 30 churches in his ministry. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Sallie Singleton Coffey, Bean Station; Daughters, Mrs. Velva Warwick, Knoxville, Mrs. Pearl Lawson, Mooresburg, Mrs. Pauline Clement, Morristown, Mrs. Gynette Soard, Orlando, Flla. Mrs. Elsa Croucher, Middleton, Ohio; sons, Mr. Eathridge (Bill) Coffey, Bean Station, Mr. A. T. Coffey, Bean Station, Mr. J. C. Coffey, Middletown, Ohio; 29 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; brothers, Mr. James Coffey, Kingsport, Mr. Carson Coffey, Thornhill; several nieces and newpews and a host of friends.

Funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Thorn Hill Baptist Church with interment at Hamblen Memory Gardens. Body will be removed to the home at 1 p.m. Sunday. Rev. S. D. Rhodes and Rev. Robert Coffey will officiate. Pallbearers: grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers; Mr. Thurman Hightower, Mr. Lester Bowlin, Mr. John Henry Diamond, Mr. Walter Coffey, Mr. Elmer Kincaid, and all of his friends in the ministry.

They appeared in the census on 30 April 1940 in Hancock Co., TN.39121 Sarah "Sally" Singleton, daughter of Hampton Singleton and Nancy , was born on 23 July 1901 in Hancock Co., TN. Sarah died in Bean Station, Grainger Co., TN on 16 October 1988 and was buried at Hamblen Memory Gardens in Morristown, Hamblen Co., TN in October 1988 .39122,39123
Coffey, Sally, age 87, born July 23, 1901 of Bean Station TN., passed away Oct. 16, 1988. She was daughter of the late Hamp and Nancy Singleton. She was a member of River View Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Johnny Coffey; daughter Iva Ward; son Bill Coffey; granddaughters; Connie Jones and Linda Coffey.

She was survived by her daughters, Velva Warwick, Knoxville, Pearl Lawson, Mooreburg, Pauline Clement Morristown, Gynette Soard, Apopka, Fla., Elsie Croucher, Middletown, Ohio: sons, A. T. Coffey, Bean Station, J. L. Coffey, Franklin, Ohio; 26 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephew a host of other relatives and friends who loved her very much.
Funeral service were held at Thorn Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Coffey and Rev. Tommy Sartain officiating.
