3590. William Orville Mills was born in March 1846 in Tennessee. He appeared in the census on 17 August 1870 in Posey Co., IN.¹²⁰⁷⁵

William Orville is listed in the McKay household in the 1870 census records. He married Talitha McKay around 1875. I do not know why it says "adopted". There is a William O. Mills family, age 60, born TN in the 1900 Prentiss Co., MS census. He was born in TN. With him is wife Talitha, born 1861 in MS; children: Jesse T., born Feb. 1881 in MS; Eliam M., born May 1883; James O., born Jul 1845; Katie B., dau., born Dec. 1887; Oscar B., son, born Sep. 1890; and Lester C., son, born Dec. 1893, all born MS. This is likely not the William Orville of interest; however if it is, then Lydia Moit marriage is not likely correct.

There is a marriage record in Posey Co., IN for Lydia A. Moit to Moses R. Aldridge on April 10, 1860. See Book C-4, Page 306. A marriage record for Lydia to William Mills has not been found. Lydia A. Moit was born in 1848 in Posey Co., IN. Lydia died in Posey Co., IN in 1869.

William Orville Mills and Talitha C. McKay were married. They appeared in the census on 6 June 1900 in Prentiss Co., MS.¹²⁰⁷⁸ Talitha C. McKay was born on 8 February 1853 in Guntown, Lee Co., MS. Talitha died on 4 February 1911 at the age of 57 in Marietta, Prentiss Co., MS and was buried at Marietta Cemetery in Marietta, Prentiss Co., MS.¹²⁰⁷⁹
