This family apparently evaded both the 1920 and 1930 North Carolina census. Elsie Mae Hodges was born on 12 March 1899 in North Carolina. Elsie Mae died of lung cancer on 31 December 1942 at the age of 43 at Blackwelder Hospital in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC and was buried at Tolbert Cemetery in Mortimer, Caldwell Co., NC on 2 January 1943.³⁴⁷²²

This may be the Elsie M. Coffey who died in Caldwell Co., on Dec. 31, 1942. She was born in 1899 and was 43 years old at the time of death.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 2:00 to 3:15 p.m. at Catawba Valley Baptist.
