Justin Coffey

Mr. Justin Coffey, 87, of Blowing Rock, died Thursday evening, Dec. 17, 2009, at Blowing Rock Hospital.

He was born Jan. 16, 1922 in Watauga County, a son of the late D.P. and Luda Perry Coffey.

Mr. Coffey was a retired, self-employed, stone supplier and a member of Laurel Fork Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Hoyle Coffey and wife, Nancy, and Perry Coffey and wife, Candace, all of Blowing Rock; two granddaughters, Kimberly Coffey of Trade, Tenn. and Lana Beth Coffey of New York City; one grandson, Brian Coffey and wife, Ginger, of Houston, Tex.; and one great-granddaughter, Leah Coffey of Houston. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Triplett Coffey; one granddaughter, Kelly Ann Coffey; seven sisters, Clara Thompson, Helen Moore, Rosella Willis, Lucille Coffey, Ann Brown, Virginia Bolick, and Luda Gragg; and two brothers, Paul Coffey and Glenn Coffey.

Services were conducted Sunday afternoon, Dec. 20, 2009, at 2:00 o'clock, at Laurel Fork Baptist Church. Officiating was Dr. Daniel Featherstone. Burial followed in Laurel Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.
