AKINS, Ruth Humphries, 78, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Roanoke and Rockbridge Co., died Friday, May 26, 1995 at Cambridge Health Center, Indianapolis. Born in Virginia, JAnuary 8, 1917, she was the daughter of the late E. B. Humphries and Mabel Coffey Humphries. She was a retired employee of Dominion Bank of Roanoke. Surviving are one son, Thomas N. Akins, Indianapolis, Ind.; one sister, Mildred Beasley, Radford; one brother, Vernon Humphries, Buena Vista; also two grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, May 31, 1995, at 3:30 p.m. at Green Hill Cemetery, Buena Vista, with Dr. Thomas G. Harvey officiating. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
