In the 1910 census he was born c1867. Second marriage record gives birth year as 1872. In 1920, c1869; 1930, c1870; and in 1940, c1873. His death certificate reports date of birth as Sep. 20, 1865.
Henry died in Buena Vista, Independent City, VA on 5 June 1951 of cerebral arteriosclerosis and was buried at Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista, Independent City, VA on 7 June 1951 .14200,14201,14202

Coffey, Henry M. Jr., (Yodie), 66, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, July 2, 1994 in the VA Medical Center, Salem. Born October 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Henry M. Coffey, Sr. and Mollie Oliver Coffey.

He retired after 32 years with Reaves Brothers. He was a member of the First Brethren Church, where he was the sound system operator and van driver. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 126.

Surviving are three sisters, Georgie Louise Henson, Joyce Coffey, and Olga (Audie) Staton, all of Buena Vista; two brothers, Max O. Coffey, Lookout, W. Va., and Robert L. Coffey, Fairfield.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 1994 in the First Brethren Church, with the Rev. Lester Kennedy, the Rev. Paul Fink, and the Rev. Jesse Truax officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 5, 1994, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Lomax Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Radio Ministry of the First Brethren Church, 100 E. 29th St., Buena Vista, Va. 24416.

Joyce J. Coffey, 69, of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, February 12, 2003 in the Roanoke Memorial Rehab Center. She was born February 23, 1933 in Buena Vista, daughter of the late Henry M. Coffey and Mary "Mollie" Oliver Coffey. she was a member of the First Brethren Church and supported the Mother's Against Drunk Drivers. She was a retired CNA from the Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center.

She is survived by her son, Timothy N. Coffey of Buena Vista and a daughter, Beth Ann Hille of Glasgow; sisters: Georgie C. Henson, Audrey C. Staton and Etta C. Gilbert, all of Buena Vista.

The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2003 at the Lomax Funeral Home chapel with pastor Christian Becker officiating. Burial followed in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family received friends on Friday at the Lomax Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Neriah Food Pantry or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were handled by the Lomax Funeral Home, Buena Vista.
